The Apiro® heavy duty rack and pinion drive is the reinforced version of the tried-and-tested Apiro® rack and pinion drive and has been specially developed for applications requiring higher loads, greater stability and precise linear motion.
Rack-and-pinion drives are primarily used for pusher tasks or in format adjustment.
A particular advantage is the ease with which Apiro® rack-and-pinion drives can be synchronised. The version with an integrated clutch allows shafts to be flexibly connected to drive multiple rack-and-pinion drives.
The Apiro® rack and pinion gearbox with integrated planetary gearbox allows direct connection to a NEMA17 motor. The planetary gearbox amplifies the motor’s torque, resulting in a very compact yet powerful drive unit.
At igus®, Apiro® stands for cost-effective gearbox solutions and flexible, customised solutions. The modular gearbox system offers a wide range of products based on a combination of various drive and output configurations, different gear ratios and a wide variety of accessories. In addition to rack and pinion gearboxes, bevel gearboxes and worm gearboxes are also available in the gearbox system.
A modular design and the simple connection of individual components enable cost-effective solutions for an infinite number of applications. Hence the name: ‘Apiro’ is the Greek word for ‘infinite’.
With Apiro®, customised solutions can also be implemented quickly and cost-effectively.
