Upper run guide for long travels, unsupported in swarf areas

Especially in machine tools on long travels, when the energy chain has to be used in a sliding manner, metallic swarf is a problem. guidelok is the cost-effective solution for travels, unsupported up to 50m. The guidelok horizontal is more cost-effective than many steel chains or complex sliding systems.

Design principle

The horizontal guidelok guides the upper run of the energy chain on special pivoting roller supports that can fold in the moving radius of the energy chain and guarantee an unobstructed "travel" of the system.

The e-chain® is guided in the trough channel, pushing back the spring loaded roller supports with its radius ...

... roller supports pivot in and out again after the radius ...

... the upper run then lays on the roller supports.

Real-world examples

guidelok horizontal is used in the horizontal lathe of the Spanish machine builder Tornos Gurutzpe S.A. Due to this new design of the guidelok horizontal, no swarf can get stuck between the sliding surfaces of the upper and lower runs of the energy chain.
