Dosing applications in numerous variations are very often requested from us. A wide variety of liquids are used here, which is why a high degree of flexibility is required when designing the solution. In this example, a blue-coloured liquid had to be applied precisely on an aluminium plate. 

The problem

The application of such "liquid dots" cannot be implemented using a manual process, since there are inaccuracies in the positioning as well as different dosing quantities of the individual dots. It was also important that the process was carried out within a closed cell, so that external disruptive factors could not have a negative impact on the result.


 

The solution

An igus room linear robot including robot cell and the control system software igus Robot Control. 
After all liquid dots have been dosed automatically, the aluminium plates can be removed from the robot cell after a certain drying time. As there is no lubricant, there is no risk of contamination from foreign substances within the cell.
